How soon do I have to pay for my session?

Typically payment is expected at the time of service. We appreciate your prompt attention to payment. If a problem develops please feel free to discuss this with your therapist.  Accounts that become past due may lead to a temporary termination of services until the account is made current.  If you have any questions in regard to this information, please email our office gconthecoast@embarqmail.com or call
(541) 994-6388.

Do you discount your counseling fees?

Many people ask about reduced fees. Though we would like to offer reduced fee services, the ongoing realities of the facility mortgage, office expenses, etc., prohibit this.

What about confidentiality?

Psychotherapeutic services are typically confidential, meaning that whatever you tell your therapist remains private between you and the therapist. There are some exceptions to confidentiality that we would like you to be aware of.

In the state of Oregon, any information a psychotherapist receives about the physical or sexual abuse or neglect of a minor must be reported to the state or a law enforcement agency. If in the professional opinion of your therapist you pose an imminent danger to yourself (e.g. suicide) or others (e.g. homicide), information may be released to protect you or others. If your services are ordered by the judicial system (e.g. court, probation, etc.), there may be information these agencies request. In that case, you will be asked to sign a release of information at the outset of treatment. If you introduced the fact that you are or have been in treatment as part of a court action (e.g. criminal defense, lawsuit, etc.), you may have given up your right to confidentiality.

While the above listed circumstances are rare, we want you to be fully informed of both your guaranteed right to privacy and to know in advance the few exceptions to that right.

If you have any questions in regard to this information, please email our office  --gconthecoast@embarqmail.com -- or ask your therapist.

Currently we do not accept Medicaid as payment, but please inquire at a later date.

How do I reach my counselor in case of emergency?

We do not carry a pager. Emergencies that call for immediate care require the attention of traditional emergency services such as police, paramedics and hospital emergency departments.

The therapist can be reached by calling the regular office telephone number and using our voice-mail system.
